How we think things has to be done


Meaningful Engagement
Modifying community programs to accommodate inclusive participation of community members and stakeholders in program design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
Accountability
Holding those in power to be answerable to the community that elected them and to be accountable for the decisions, resources and services placed in their management, in an open and transparent way.
Empowerment and Leadership
Scaling up leadership and managerial competence of marginalized groups in order to improve their capacity to participate, innovate and engage in local initiatives.
Advocacy
Supporting and enabling community members to defend and promote their rights, by exercising their freedom to express their views and concerns.
Inclusion
Adapting and designing approaches that ensure the representation of all members of the community, including minority and marginalized and vulnerable groups that include:
- People living with disability
- Women, young women, young people and adolescents
- Minority tribes
- Refugees and the internally displaced
- To make their voice heard in policy formation, implementation and service delivery.
Partnership
The effectiveness of community-driven interventions at local levels is highly conditioned by the capacity for collective action.
